Keeping water parameters stable is crucial. Regularly test pH (6.5-7.5), temperature (22-26°C or 72-79°F), ammonia (0 ppm), nitrites (0 ppm), and nitrates (under 20 ppm) to ensure a healthy environment.
Invest in a good water test kit and check parameters regularly. Perform regular water changes, typically 10-20% weekly, to keep the water clean. Use water conditioners if necessary to remove chlorine and other harmful substances.
Poor water quality can stress shrimp, making them more susceptible to disease and even death. Ammonia and nitrite spikes are particularly dangerous. Keeping water parameters stable and performing regular maintenance is essential for their health.
