Creating a natural habitat for your shrimp is important. Use a substrate like sand or fine gravel, which is gentle on shrimp and allows them to forage. Live plants like Java moss and Anubias provide hiding spots and help improve water quality.
Live plants not only beautify the tank but also offer hiding places and food sources. Java moss, Anubias, and floating plants are excellent choices. Include driftwood and rocks to create a more natural look and provide additional surfaces for biofilm growth, which shrimp love to eat.
Shrimp need places to hide, especially when they molt. Use caves, PVC pipes, and dense plantings to provide safe retreats. These hiding spots also help reduce stress and create a more secure environment for breeding.
